Job Responsibilities
Within the Large Projects area, we have the Norrbotnia Railway, a railway for faster, safer, and more environmentally friendly travel and transport. We have obtained legal force for the railway plans between Dåva (Umeå) and Skellefteå, which means we are now building up and complementing our support function in construction environment ahead of production start.
As a Safety Specialist, you will primarily support the Norrbotnia Railway regarding construction environment and electrical and traffic safety within railway and road. This means you will support the project management with everything from project planning to implementation and follow-up. In this role, you are responsible for the tasks, inquiries, and coordination required within your areas.
Your responsibilities include, for example:
- Contributing to the project's work with risk analysis, project specifications, and control programs
- Participating in the preparation of tender documents and procurement of suppliers
- Reviewing safety plans and work environment plans
- Supporting the reporting and handling of accidents, incidents, and deviations
- Contributing with feedback and lessons learned in strategic issues

Qualifications
You have good problem-solving skills that enable you to identify problems and develop solutions from a holistic perspective. You drive your issues independently while having the ability to collaborate with other specialists and the project organization. You are flexible in your approach and can adapt to current situations and circumstances. You have the ability to explain information in a simple way and are responsive and communicative. Furthermore, you are motivated by active employee participation where you purposefully take responsibility for your tasks while being aware of how you are part of and contribute to the whole by collaborating with others.
We are looking for someone who:
- has a university or college degree of at least 180 credits (120 points) with a technical focus, or other education and experience deemed equivalent by the Transport Administration
- has several years of current and relevant work experience in construction environment
- has several years of current and relevant work experience in electrical and traffic safety
- has current and relevant work experience in contract follow-up and controls within construction environment for railway and/or road
- has current and relevant work experience in contract follow-up and controls within electrical and traffic safety for railway and/or road
- has current and relevant experience of working with Swedish laws, regulations, and ordinances applicable to construction environment
- has current and relevant experience of working with Swedish laws, regulations, and ordinances applicable to electrical and traffic safety
- has good computer skills and experience working with the Office package
- has good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing
- has a driver's license for passenger cars
It is an advantage if you:
- have current and relevant experience of working within large and complex infrastructure projects
- have current and relevant experience of production work within construction environment
- have current and relevant experience of production work within electrical and traffic safety
Additional Information
Web-based tests may be used as part of the selection process.
The location for the position can be chosen from Luleå, Skellefteå, Sundsvall, or Umeå. Business travel may also occur in this role.
The first interviews will preliminarily be held via Skype during weeks 15-17.
